Connecting Early Career Researchers

2021-05-21

In May 2020, Critical Gambling Studies published a special issue:  Futures of Gambling Studies: Showcasing Early Career Research, guest edited by Eva Monson and Jennifer Reynolds. You can view the issue and read the articles by visiting: https://www.criticalgamblingstudies.com/index.php/cgs/issue/view/8

To celebrate the publication of the issue, a launch event was held on May 20th which featured an excellent panel of early career researchers speaking about their experiences, interests, and their thoughts on the future of gambling studies.  Panelists included Guest Editors Eva Monson (Université de Sherbrooke) and Jennifer Reynolds (Concordia University), as well as Riitta Matilainen (EHYT Finnish Association for Substance Abuse Prevention), Cesar Albarran-Torres (Swinburne University of Technology) and Juan Zhang (University of Bristol). The panel was moderated by CGS Co-Editor Fiona Nicoll (University of Alberta) and opening remarks were given by Rebecca Cassidy (Goldsmiths University).

Early career researches who are interested in continuing the conversation about ECR experiences in the field of gambling studies are encouraged to connect with Eva Monson by emailing her at Eva.Monson@usherbrooke.ca
